Brand Story

Milestone reached: 100 percent of fibres traceable

Since late 2025, the Rewe Group has ensured that 100 percent of the Cotton made in Africa cotton used in its own brands is physically traceable to its origin.

A supply chain kept separate

Since late 2025, the Rewe Group has managed to ensure that 100 percent of Cotton made in Africa cotton used in its own brands is physically traceable to its origin. This achievement rests on the Hard Identity Preserved (HIP) system, which keeps the cotton separated throughout the supply chain. It is never mixed with non-certified materials or goods, and each step is documented and physically verifiable.

The Rewe Group has been partnering with Cotton made in Africa since 2008. Cotton made in Africa’s approach centres on trade instead of donations, with the aim of enabling people to help themselves. By leveraging the fair market and providing local training, Cotton made in Africa improves the living conditions of African small-scale farmers and protects natural resources without creating dependencies.
